The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged the government to assign its printing contracts to the Ghana Publishing Company Limited.
Speaking at the Manhyia Palace during a courtesy call by the company’s Acting Managing Director and management team, on Friday, March 14, Otumfuo expressed confidence in the leadership of Nana Kwesi Boatey and the company’s capacity to handle more government printing jobs.
He emphasized that increased government support for the company would not only boost its operations but also create employment opportunities.
The Asantehene further pledged to facilitate the acquisition of land in Kumasi to enable the Ghana Publishing Company to establish a production line in the Ashanti Region.
“I don’t see the reason why all government printing is not given to you to print. There are a lot of government contracts that can be given to the company to do. The ministries should give you more work to do.
“I will see to it that the Apiagyahene facilitates getting land that can be used so that even if there is no money you can start and build gradually,” Otumfuo said.
