Speaking at the launch of the Gazette 360 campaign in which was held at the premises of GPCLAccra, Nana Kwasi Boatey Esq, vowed to clamp down on fake gazettes that have flooded the system.
He warned that anyone caught attempting to falsify or the Ghana Gazette would be treated as an enemy of the state. “We will chase you, we will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we’ll make sure you stay behind bars,” he declared.
According to the GPCL boss, fake gazettes have damaged the reputations of Ghanaians seeking opportunities abroad, with fraudulent entries in marriages and name changes. He called on the media and security services to join the fight to preserve the integrity of Ghana’s official legal publication.
Gazette 360 is a national public education campaign by the Ghana Publishing Company Limited to help Ghanaians understand the role of the Gazette, how to access and use it, and why it matters for legality and governance. It addresses low public awareness and the problem of fake gazettes by taking education into the media, schools, religious institutions, and communities. With support from Marry Right Ghana and AngloGold Ashanti, the campaign urges citizens to know the Gazette, use it for legal records, and trust it as protection against fraud and illegitimacy.
