The Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has officially inaugurated a newly constituted 9-member board for the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL). The ceremony, held recently, tasked the board with providing strategic direction and ensuring the progress of the state-owned publishing house.

The board is chaired by Mathew Lawer Teye, and its members include prominent figures such as media personality Kwabena Bobie Ansah, Rebecca Naa Kuorkor Aryee, Emmanuel Johnson Cobblah, and Albert Wellington Stahope Eshun. Other members are Henry Kodjo Agbai, Stella Quaye, Sampson Rosenberg Owusu Adokoh, and the Managing Director of the company, Nana Kwasi Boatey Esq.

During the inauguration, Minister Ofosu emphasized the crucial role of the Ghana Publishing Company Limited in the country’s educational and governmental sectors. He urged the newly appointed board members to leverage their diverse expertise to support the management in achieving the company’s objectives and fostering its growth.

The Ghana Publishing Company Limited has a long history, having been converted from the Assembly Press into a limited liability company in 2007 under the Statutory Corporations (Conversion to Companies) Act 461, 1993. Its primary mandate is to print and publish high-quality books and stationery for educational institutions, government departments, and the general public. The company aims to provide these services at competitive prices, adhering to high standards of quality and contributing to Ghana’s socio-economic and educational development.

The newly inaugurated board held its first meeting 14th May, 2025., signaling the commencement of their work in guiding the Ghana Publishing Company Limited into its next phase of development. They are expected to focus on strategic initiatives, ensuring sound corporate governance, and exploring opportunities for growth and innovation within the publishing industry. The Minister expressed optimism about the prospects of the company under the new board’s leadership.
